Due to militarization of the Fourth of July in Washington DC, we see a hundred at the first at Faragutt Square (since we were banned from the traditional site Lafayette Park across from the White House). Nigherian democracy activist Hafsat Abioloa, daughter of opposition leader Mushad Abioloa who was murdered by Nigerian authoritarians, as was her mother. World renowned anti-nuclear war activist Dr. Helen Caldicott reminds audience of 200 women that accidental nuclear war could be upon us within minutes and calls for women to do a nude protest at the White House during the next days march. (Speech at Indymedia.) A couple dozen women seemed ready to join. While march leaders evidently squashed the idea, a number of women went topless in protest anyway.
